Setting a world record in the 50m freestyle swimming event with an astonishing time of 37.33 seconds, he etched his name in history. Additionally, Petkar showcased his versatility by participating in javelin, precision javelin throw, and slalom events, reaching the finals in each discipline. Recognizing his outstanding contributions, he was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2018.
