Back in Action is an upcoming American action comedy film directed by Seth Gordon, with a screenplay co-written by Gordon and Brendan O’Brien. The film features a star-studded cast including Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, and Glenn Close.
Back in Action Release Date
Back in Action is scheduled for release on Netflix on November 15, 2024. In June 2022, it was announced that Cameron Diaz would come out of retirement for the film, an action comedy directed by Seth Gordon and co-written with Brendan O’Brien, also starring Jamie Foxx. Beau Bauman is producing for Good One Productions, with Seth Gordon for Exhibit A, and Foxx, Datari Turner, O’Brien, and Mark McNair as executive producers.
Jamie Foxx revealed he persuaded Diaz to join the cast by emphasizing the fun of the project. In November 2022, Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler were added, followed by Andrew Scott, McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson, and Jamie Demetriou in February 2023.
Principal photography for Back in Action occurred in London from December 2, 2022, to March 9, 2023, with Cameron Diaz filming scenes at the River Thames in late February. Filming then moved to Atlanta, starting on March 27 and concluding in late April. During mid-April, body doubles were used for Jamie Foxx’s remaining scenes due to his hospitalization for a medical emergency.
