October is going to be a blockbuster month on OTT platforms. Many new movies and web series are lined up for release across different streaming services. From Dussehra to Diwali, OTT lovers can enjoy a full dose of entertainment at home. Here’s the complete list of releases and their dates:
1 October – Some Lessons Are Not Taught in Class (Sony LIV)
Inspired by mathematics mentor Mohit Tyagi, this startup drama stars Paresh Pahuja as a former venture capitalist who leaves his successful career to support his teacher and guide, MT Sir (played by Gagan Dev Riar). Together, they dream of launching a new Ed-Tech venture.
2 October – The Game: You Never Play Alone (Netflix)
This Tamil series marks the OTT debut of Shraddha Srinath. She plays a female game developer in a male-dominated industry who faces trolling both online and in real life.
3 October – Monster: The Ed Gein Story (Netflix)
After Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez Brothers, Ryan Murphy’s Netflix anthology focuses on serial killer Ed Gein. Starring Charlie Hunnam, this eight-episode series explores the man who inspired horror classics like The Silence of the Lambs, Psycho, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The cast also includes Susanna Son, Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, Vicky Krieps, and Olivia Williams.
10 October – Search: The Naina Murder Case (JioCinema/Hotstar)
Konkona Sen Sharma stars as ACP Samyukta Das, who is on the verge of being transferred when she takes on a teenage murder case. The investigation uncovers dark secrets that could shake many lives. Surya Sharma plays a young police officer assisting her.

10 October – Kurukshetra (Netflix)
This animated mythological series, based on the Mahabharata, tells the story from the perspective of 18 key warriors. Created by Anu Sikka, it focuses on inner struggles, rivalries, and the war that divided brothers. The series will be split into two parts, with nine episodes each.
16 October – The Diplomat Season 3 (Netflix)
Starring Keri Russell, the political thriller returns with more drama. This season, Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) is declared the new President of the United States. Russell’s character, the US ambassador to the UK, is torn between her husband’s ambitions and her duty to the country.
24 October – A House of Dynamite (Netflix)
Oscar-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow directs this political thriller with an all-star cast including Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, and more. The story follows America under threat when an unidentified missile is launched, sparking a desperate hunt for the truth.
27 October – IT: Welcome to Derry (JioCinema/Hotstar)
A prequel to Stephen King’s IT, this HBO Max series explores the origins of the terrifying clown Pennywise in the town of Derry, Maine. Bill Skarsgård reprises his iconic role, with Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs producing.
30 October – The Witcher Season 4 (Netflix)
The popular fantasy series returns, this time with Liam Hemsworth stepping in as the new White Wolf, replacing Henry Cavill. As the saga heads toward its conclusion in 2026, this season brings characters back together for an epic continuation.
