In 2005, Laxmi made her cinematic debut in the Tamil-language film Karka Kasadara. Following her debut, she appeared in several Tamil movies, including the comedy Kundakka Mandakka (2005) opposite R. Parthiban, Perarasu’s action-packed Dharmapuri (2006), and the romantic drama Nenjai Thodu (2007). Her first venture into Kannada cinema was Valmiki (2005), starring alongside Shiva Rajkumar.
