MG Comet EV and ZS EV: Huge Price Reduction with Battery-as-a-Service Program

JSW MG Motor India has expanded its recently launched Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to include the Comet EV and ZS EV. The Comet EV is now priced at ₹4.99 lakh, with a battery rental fee of ₹2.50 per kilometre, while the ZS EV is available for ₹13.99 lakh, with a rental fee of ₹4.50 per kilometre.

The BaaS program was first introduced with the MG Windsor EV. This innovative concept allows customers to purchase an electric vehicle (EV) without paying for the battery upfront, instead charging a fee based on usage. Additionally, buyers can expect a guaranteed 60% buyback value for the MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV after three years of ownership.

Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, stated, “With BaaS, we have created a platform for easy ownership, making our EVs more accessible than ever. Given the strong response to the Windsor under the BaaS program, we are now extending these benefits to our popular models, Comet and ZS. I am confident that this unique ownership model will further encourage EV adoption in the country.”

The BaaS initiative is supported by a strong network of finance partners, including Bajaj Finserv, Hero Fincorp, Vidyut, and Ecofy Autovert.

The MG Comet EV offers a claimed range of 230 km on a single charge, while the MG ZS EV provides a claimed range of 461 km.
