UPI (Unified Payment Interface) is used by almost everyone today. Whether it’s for small daily needs or large transactions, UPI has become a go-to service. Starting from 1st August, several major changes are being introduced to the UPI system. These changes are expected to directly impact users financially.
What’s Changing?
1. Balance Check Limit
If you are someone who frequently checks your UPI balance, this might cause inconvenience. Also, users who have multiple accounts linked to a single mobile number may face issues. As per the new rule, you will only be allowed to check your balance 50 times in a day on the UPI app.

- Before 10 AM
- Between 1 PM and 5 PM
- After 9:30 PM
3. How to Make UPI Payments Using a Credit Card
To pay via UPI using your credit card, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Open your UPI app and scan the QR code for the payment.
- Step 2: Select the “Pay Phone Number” or “Pay Contact” option.
- Step 3: Enter the UPI number or go to other payment options.
- Step 4: You may also choose the “Self Transfer” option.
- Step 5: After verifying the QR code or phone number, enter the payment amount.
- Step 6: Select the credit card as your payment method.
- Step 7: Enter your UPI PIN to complete the transaction.
These changes are aimed at improving system efficiency, managing load during peak hours, and ensuring smoother operations. Make sure you stay updated and adjust your usage accordingly.
