Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 1- Akshay Continues to Suffer at Box Office

Despite decent advance bookings, Sky Force is struggling to meet expectations on its opening day. The film, based on the 1965 India-Pakistan air war, was expected to earn ₹7-9 crore but has so far collected ₹4.74 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Advance Booking and Opening Day Box Office Performance

The war drama generated ₹3.78 crore in advance ticket sales for 2D and IMAX 2D formats, with an extended total of ₹5.42 crore, including block seats. It also set a record for Akshay Kumar’s highest pre-sales on BookMyShow since 2024, selling 1.48 lakh tickets. However, the film’s overall Hindi occupancy on January 24, 2025, was just 12.19%.

For comparison, Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter (2024), which had a similar theme, earned ₹8.4 crore in advance sales and opened with ₹22.5 crore, eventually grossing ₹358.83 crore globally on a ₹250 crore budget.

About Sky Force

Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film stars Akshay Kumar, debutant Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Made on a ₹160 crore budget, Sky Force narrates India’s first airstrike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase.

With a running time of 125 minutes, the film was released on January 24, 2025. Whether it gains momentum in the coming days remains to be seen.
