Films That ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Has Surpassed
Although the film hasn’t yet entered the top 50 highest-grossing opening weekends, it has still outperformed several notable releases:
- Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ – ₹40.62 crore
- Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ – ₹27.50 crore
- Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion’ – ₹27.50 crore
That said, Aamir Khan still needs the film to perform well in the coming days to recover its total production cost.
Aamir Khan’s Return After a Long Gap
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is the spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan’s much-loved 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par’. While the first film was deeply emotional, the sequel is getting an enthusiastic response from fans. It is reportedly a Hindi remake of the Hollywood film ‘Champions’. Aamir’s previous releases like ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ underperformed at the box office, and he had stayed away from the big screen for nearly three years. But with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, Aamir Khan seems to have made a strong and promising comeback.
