The Indian Railways is set to launch 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains as part of its ongoing efforts to modernize the railway system. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate these trains on September 15. Known for their high-speed capabilities and advanced features, the Vande Bharat trains are set to offer passengers an improved travel experience with enhanced comfort and efficiency.
This launch follows PM Modi’s previous inauguration of three Vande Bharat trains on August 31, connecting Meerut to Lucknow, Madurai to Bengaluru, and Chennai to Nagercoil, improving connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
One notable addition is the Hubli-Pune Vande Bharat Express, which promises to significantly reduce travel time between Karnataka and Maharashtra. Other new routes include Nagpur-Secunderabad (578 km) and Pune-Hubballi (558 km), bringing the total number of Vande Bharat trains in Maharashtra to eight.
Currently, six Vande Bharat trains are operating under Central Railway, covering routes like CSMT-Shirdi, CSMT-Solapur, and Nagpur-Indore. The upcoming additions will further extend connectivity with routes such as Tatanagar-Patna, Varanasi-Deoghar, Ranchi-Godda, Durg-Visakhapatnam, and more.
Key Features of the Trains:
1) Advanced safety systems, including the KAVACH collision avoidance system.
2) Improved passenger amenities like automatic plug doors and reclining ergonomic seats.
3) Executive class seating with revolving options and mobile charging sockets for every seat.
These new Vande Bharat trains represent a major upgrade in India’s railway infrastructure, offering faster acceleration, better safety, and enhanced comfort for travelers.
