India’s leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has introduced an updated version of its Celerio hatchback in the Indian market. The latest model comes with enhanced safety features, now offering six airbags instead of the previous two-airbag setup. This upgrade improves safety but has also made the new model slightly more expensive.
Price Hike Across Variants
With the safety upgrade, the base model is now ₹27,500 costlier, while the VXi MT and CNG MT variants have seen a ₹16,000 increase. The VXi AMT variant is ₹21,000 costlier, while the top-end ZXi and ZXi+ MT trims have seen a ₹27,500 hike. The range-topping ZXi+ AMT variant has experienced the highest price increase of ₹32,500.
With these price adjustments, the 2025 Maruti Celerio now has an ex-showroom price range of ₹5.64 lakh to ₹7.37 lakh.
No Changes in Engine & Performance
Apart from the airbag upgrade, the new Celerio remains mechanically unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 1.0L, 3-cylinder K10C petrol engine, producing 67 bhp and 89 Nm of torque. The car comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 5-speed AMT option is available from the VXi trim onwards. The CNG variant is still offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox, delivering 57 PS and 82 Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency remains unchanged.
