Reports suggest that the third edition of the Jio Phone series, that is, JioPhone Next will launch around Diwali. Earlier, the latest upcoming smartphone was about to launch on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi in September 2021. The delay in the launch was because of the ongoing global chip shortage.

JioPhone Next is actually a Made in India and Made by Indians smartphone. The company aims to ensure that every Indian gets access to digital technology. The company promises to change the lives of millions of Indians, starting with the JioPhone Next smartphone.

In a short span of 5 years, Reliance Jio has changed the future of digital India and has become a household name in India. Currently, it is serving 430 million users and targets to complete 500 million users’ goals by the end of 2021.

JioPhone Next smartphones will target low-income consumers in India, just like the earlier two models. The very first Jio phone was a feature phone with a 4G internet connection, whereas, the JioPhone 2 was an advanced version of the first phone in terms of a QWERTY keyboard. However, the latest model falls under the smartphone category.

This smartphone will run on Pragati OS, powered by Android, which is specially developed for JioPhone Next in India. The operating system is designed by the best engineers of Jio and Google with a specific objective of bringing ‘Pragati’ (progress) into the digital world of India. It aims to offer a magnificent experience to its users at an affordable cost.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 215 processor that comes with 4 Cortex-A53 cores and an integrated Adreno 306 GPU. The Qualcomm processor focuses on delivering optimized connectivity and location technologies along with optimizations in device performance.

According to the reports, the dual SIM smartphone is likely to have up to 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The company might launch extended internal storage smartphones in the future, but the pricing will be set according to it.

With the help of the voice assistant feature, it becomes easy for the users to operate the device like open applications, manage settings, etc. Users can also get information while browsing with the help of a voice assistant by commanding the device to show results in their regional language.

This feature allows users to listen to the content appearing on their screens. The device will read out the content for them and allows users to consume content by just listening in their regional language.

JioPhone Next comes with an HD+ display that supports 320 DPI (dots per inch) screen density. The maximum screen size will be 5.5-inch with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

It will come with various photography modes such as Portrait mode to capture beautiful pictures with blurred backgrounds. However, at night it will be easy to capture pictures with night mode even under low lighting conditions.

The camera is already preloaded with Indian augmented reality filters to enhance picture quality. The device sports an 8 MP front camera to click spectacular selfies and a 13 MP rear camera for stunning photography which also supports AR filters.
