India’s Passport Ranking Drops by 5 Spots: Which Country Tops the List? Check Pakistan’s Rank Too

India’s passport ranking has fallen by five spots, now standing at 85th in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, down from 80th last year. According to the index, Indian passport holders can now travel visa-free to 57 countries. India shares this ranking with Equatorial Guinea and Niger. Meanwhile, neighboring Pakistan is ranked 103rd.

Which Country Tops the List?

For the second consecutive year, Singapore has claimed the top position on the list of the world’s most powerful passports. According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, Singaporean passport holders can travel visa-free to 195 countries. Japan ranks second, with its passport holders enjoying visa-free travel to 193 countries.

Significant Changes in Rankings

The UAE has shown remarkable improvement over the last decade, climbing to 10th place, with its citizens now able to travel visa-free to 185 countries. Meanwhile, the United States has seen a decline, now ranked 9th, down from 2nd place in 2015.

Who Ranks the Lowest?

In 2025, Pakistan and Yemen are tied at the 103rd position, with passport holders enjoying visa-free access to only 33 countries. Following them are Iraq (31 countries), Syria (27 countries), and Afghanistan, which remains at the bottom with visa-free access to just 26 countries.
