    COVID-19: Random Covid Tests To be Held at Delhi Airport, Railways, Bus Stations because of festival season

    In order to win this battle, the government imposed necessary instructions that have to be followed strictly as festivals are approaching and a second wave of the virus is expected in between these days. Delhi government declared on Tuesday that random testing of COVID-19 will be held across Delhi’s airports, railway, and bus stations.




    The government also imposed a certain bar on the public celebration of the coming festivals like Holi, Shab-e-Barat, and Navratra festivals. Due to the high risk of the coronavirus in public places and markets, the government said that safety measures should be taken seriously, and wearing a face mask is necessary for such places.

    Senior authorities like the District Magistrates and senior police officers are requested to strictly follow certain instructions and protocols issued by the government. The government also said that random testing will also be carried out at crowded boarding places for private buses.

    The number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi has crosses 1,000 over the past 24 hours and the latest number of cases is 1,101. It was December 19, and this was the last time when the daily cases were high and the city logged 1,139 new cases. According to recent reports, four people have died in the last 24 hours due to the coronavirus and that sums up to a total of 10,967 deaths so far.





    Also, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain highlighted a personal appeal to take necessary precautions during the Holi festival. He also said that the government hospitals are ready to consider staggered timings for OPD patients after viewing the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

    “Wearing a mask at public places is necessary and strict actions will be taken against those who will be found guilty for violating social distancing norms and other preventive measures,” said Jain in a meeting with reporters.





    According to the new data from the Union Health Ministry, the total number of infections in the United Kingdom, Brazil, and South Africa reached 795.

    On Tuesday, the competent authorities in Mumbai obstructed Holi celebrations in both public and private places as the number of cases crossed 3,500 within 24 hours. The Centre said that vaccinations for all citizens above 45 years of age will begin from April 1, 2021.
