Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, saw a drop in earnings at the box office on its second Thursday. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 1 crore on Day 9. So far, it has collected a total of Rs 36.40 crore in India. Reports also said that the movie had a 9.20 percent audience in Hindi theatres on January 2.
The film is directed by Kalees and features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav in important roles. It is produced by Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande under banners like Apple Studios, Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, and Vipin Agnihotri Films. Baby John is the Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil movie Theri, which starred Thalapathy Vijay and was directed by Atlee.

Keerthy Suresh, who made her Bollywood debut with Baby John, said that Samantha Ruth Prabhu suggested her name for the role. Samantha played the same role in the Tamil version, Theri. Keerthy shared that Samantha believed she could do justice to the role and even supported her after the trailer was released. Keerthy added that she felt nervous but was happy to take up the challenge.
Varun Dhawan revealed that he did most of the stunts in Baby John by himself. In an interview with News18, he said, “The action in this movie is very big, and I performed almost all the stunts on my own, with very little use of a body double.”
