U.S e-commerce giant Amazon has finally announced the Annual Prime Day Sale 2020. The sale will be starting from August 6 and will run for 48 hours straight away. The sale will bring some of the best deals and lucrative products line-up on the website for Amazon Prime users.

The e-commerce company yesterday announced the news and shared insights about the upcoming event. The event, however, is a late reply to their customer base from Amazon. The reason is supposedly the Coronavirus pandemic which has halted all global operations of the retail company.

To add the context, Amazon Prime Day is an annual event executed by the company worldwide. This event was exclusively introduced for Amazon’s Prime members across the world. Each year, the e-commerce company kept its slot of July for the event, but it is the first time that it has been delayed.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 Deals and Offers

Adding to this year’s watchlist, Amazon users can expect a wide array of products available in various sections including smartphones, tablets, laptops, home accessories, clothing, and household supplies. Brands like OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, Intel, and Microsoft Xbox will also be participating in the yearly event.

The event will mark the introduction of around 300 new products from various markets in the country. Moreover, Amazon is also planning to offer a 10% instant discount to HDFC Bank credit and debit card payments and EMI transactions across various products.

The Amazon Prime Day Sale 2020 will mark its fifth year anniversary worldwide. It is being enjoyed by over 150 million satisfied customers across 19 countries including India and U.S, Amazon said. The Amazon Prime membership in India comes at Rs 129 per month or annual subscription of Rs 999.

Crucial to know, the event will support the SMBs (Small and Medium-Sized Businesses) in the country. India, along with major economies, has experienced a noticeable dent in its economy during the lockdown. With the event, many local retailers can overcome their slowdown from the outbreak.

When asked, Amit Agarwal, Senior VP and Country Manager, Amazon India, said: “Prime Day is back again this year offering a unique opportunity for our members, to discover joy with a two-day event filled with best of deals, hundreds of new product launches, blockbuster entertainment and more, all from the safety of their homes.”

The event has been announced for the Indian market only. According to reports, this will be the first time that Prime Day will not run on the same day globally. Seeing the current status of each region, the U.S market, along with many others, have been delayed. Therefore, Amazon will also be releasing a listing of the upcoming deals and offers for India sales from July 23 onwards.
