Aadhaar Updates: Details Can Be Updated Online From Now On.

Date:

Aadhaar card is one of the most important entities for an Indian individual nowadays and most of us use Aadhaar as our primary document for identification most of the time. But what if you have to get some information changed in your Aadhaar and don’t have time to stand in long queues all day long?

Well! The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now made it easier for you since the Aadhar details can be updated online from now on and they have opened up an online portal for the same. The Aadhaar  card holders who faced a lot of problems in getting their documents altered can be at peace now due to the fact that they can get it done in their homes now.

The steps are simple as any other procedure online and after a couple of steps down the line, you’ll be having your Aadhaar details changed. As of now, only your address can be changed through online mode and you must have your Aaadhar linked mobile number active as it is your one source of identification through the use of OTP.

The online procedure is much more hassle-free and uncomplicated then the offline one as there are certain challenges in that way of updating Aadhaar. The previous method requires to fetch a list of Aadhaar centers in your area, then check out which are the still active ones, then get into a line day before as there are only certain enrollments allowed in a day and then get your details updated after standing in long queues the next day.

The process is simple and the steps to follow are:

  1. Open the official UIDAI Website.
  2. Click on the ‘Proceed to update Address’ tab.
  3. Enter the details as asked by the website.
  4. Upload the subsequent documents.
  5. Complete the process by rechecking details and submit for correction.

If you happen to have improper documents then you can also opt for ‘Validation of Address later’ option under which, you need to validate your address at a later date through a series of steps mentioned below:

  1. Resident initiates request
  2. Address verifier consents
  3. Resident submits request
  4. Use secret code to complete

Now, that you have successfully changed your address details in Aadhaar card without any hassle, feel free to share this information with as many people as you can. The reason for this being many out there having pending work due to the fact that they need updation of their Aadhaar but just can’t afford to manage time for such a lengthy process.
